The different types of websites

In general we divide the types of website into two main groups. The first group are static HTML sites and the second are dynamic CMS sites. The main difference between the two is how the content is handled.

Static sites are hand coded with HTML/CSS code and can be only edited by someone with advanced knowledge in HyperText Markup Language (HTML), CSS and JS.

CMS Sites are based on a content management system like for example WordPress. Once they are setup it is much easier to add or edit the websites content without any advanced knowledge of code.

What is the right type for your business?

This mostly depends on what your budget and goals for your website are. If you are looking for a simple website to display your business information, a HTML website will be more then enough. If you are looking for something more and maybe want to expand your websites later, the best way to go is definitely with a CMS site.
